Fix: The Game - Global Game Jam 2020

"The First Year" is where I show what I have done in school during (you guessed it) the first year.

My first ever Game Jam! With the help of the school, ETIC Algarve, we joined the Global Game Jam 2020. It was opened to public and everyone could join.
I got teamed up with:
- Pedro Madeira - Art and Animation
- José Batista - Sound and Music

The theme was "Repair". We struggled in the beginning trying to come up with an idea. We even started working on an idea that later we decided that it wasnt that good. And finally, our final idea was a game that needed to be repaired in order to be finished. By repair, we mean that you lost basic controls, like jump, dashing, left or right movement or even the map is not loaded!

We created a item that represents a SCRIPT. When the player catches that script, it can give a couple of things:
- Left Movement;
- Right Movement;
- Jump;
- Dash;
- Melee attack;
- Loads map sprites.

BUT, the game doesnt wants you to finish, so every once in while, the game tries to mess with you by:
- Removing your ability to Jump;
- Removing your ability to go either right OR left;
- Removing your ability to Dash;
- Flipping the world upside down for a couple of seconds.

Our goal was to make a hard game where the player could feel wronged.

With only 48 hours to make this and considering our experience, we were happy with our game and would definitely do it again!
