"The First Year" is where I show what I have done in school during (you guessed it) the first year.
"Mr.Slime" was the first project where I actually had to work with someone else. In teams of 2, we had to make a game using the theme "INSIDE". So our idea, was a game where you play as a slime that wants to leave the lab. The slime has the ability to possess objects and each object has a certain ability.
Luckily for me, a programmer with no skill at drawing, I teamed up with Ana Franco, a artist.
While she was working on the drawings, I started working on the mechanics. I still remember that the slime was just a green circle and every other object was a square with different colors for each object.
The mechanics overall were easy to do but I remember that I struggled a bit with the magnet, considering that I didnt have much experience yet at programming. Worked for the first time on a system with locked levels where you had to unlock them by completing the previous one and also worked with "Best Times" for the first time, that was fun.
*OBJECTS ABILITIES*
Plunger:
- When the player possess this object, he can grab boxes and move them around.
Rubix Cube:
- When the player possess this object, he can move through the wind from fans.
Magnet:
- When the player possess this object, he has the ability to grab multiple objects at the same time.
